i down many more to go

well, the cardboard dress pretty much rocked, i really like how it turned out. but now i need to work on other stuff, such as the whispering season painting thingy, i am not quite sure what to do with that one. i also need to work on 3 other works!!! and have nooooo idea what it is i should do!! i need a concentration. so far i like the idea of using women, texture, and food. i would like to make my face out of liquorice. i remember hearing something about someone making their face out of fruit, and i think liquorice is better, for me at least. but..... ya concentration, women, food, and texture. the cupcake women prints pretty much failed :( which sucked, but oh well, i will come back to them later. the one i am working on now i just need to buckle down and finish it. i will take a photo of that one and put it up, but i will do that when i have more time.

dresses

my cardboard dress is almost done, the dress that i am making for morp is in the works, and the dresses that karen and i will make have yet to start, we need to finish those by spring because i want to actually wear them. but the cardboard dress is almost done, just need a little bit more time, i hope i can be done by the 9th, but we shall see. i am happy with it so far, the top is almost done and i need to add a bustle and i donno if i wanna add some ribbons or not, maybe i should. i will upload a photo when it's done.

dress

i wish i had more time to spend on my dress. but the cardboard dress seems to be working out pretty well. we got a huge tv this weekend and i get the box. and the funny thing is i am more excited about getting the huge cardboard box then getting a new tv :) how funny is that! but i got the bottom part of the dress done, but now i must start on the top, which i think will be the hardest part. but i am excited for the challenge, i just hope it will be ready in time to enter into scholastics otherwise that would suck... alot. although i still do like it. i mean its a cardboard dress!!! i really like cardboard right now.

all of my artists failed!!! they got deleted!!!! i had 4 of them down and then they all went away!!! i dont have time to go back and find all of them and put them all down but i will name them off

Artistic Heroes

Wayne Thiebaud is one artist who I think really speaks to me, mostly because of how much he uses cakes in his paintings. I am apparently and artist who really likes to combine my love of baking with my love of painting, and it seems that Wayne Thiebaud is able to capture what I feel for cakes in his paintings as well, but he takes such soft and gentle things such as cakes and cupcakes and makes them look almost like buildings. they are smooth and round, but lose their soft frosting like appearance, they still look like cakes, but they look more like what you would think of a cake if it were a building. using straight lines and perfect angles he takes a flawed cake and makes it straight, which is something not generally associated with cakes. I like his work, but there is something almost mathematical about it.

bodice wanted

i am currently looking for one of those mannequin things, the ones that seamstresses use, all there is is a body and if you want you can pin things to them and stuff making it easy to work with and stab. see the thing is i have an idea, i think it would take for freaking ever to do, but i am really interested in creating a dress, like a hoop skirt type dress thing all based around this bodice. but that is my idea so far. hmm i donno if i can do that, but i want to, at least right now i do.

Artist's block

i am not sure what the proper term is, but i think that i will just call it artist's block, because everyone will understand what i mean. you see as of late i have had no time to develop my ideas involving art. too many AP classes can do this to a person, or at least to me, thus i am at a crossroad, i can either stay up till 2 in the morning and actually think about art, or i can go to bed and kick butt on my AP Stat test tomorrow. hmmmm decisions decisions. and no matter what i decide it will be detrimental to my overall attitude and person. thus it sucks :( all i know is that i have a basic concept of what i want to do, which somehow involves the female figure, but i have no idea how i am supposed to combine that with something that makes me really fired up, excluding politics and religion and the environment and general ignorance of world events. i need to set aside some time to really think and develop my concentration, whatever it may be. but as it is i am currently suffering from artist's block and have nooooo idea what to do :( not good.

concentration concentrating

This weekend i have been thinking alot about what i want to do my concentration on. i know that some people already know what they want to do (coucg cough karen cough) so i have been spending some of my time thinking about ideas that really matter to me. yes i know that politics are important and all to me and so is the environment, but that just seems to generic. i also really like the idea about doing something that involves the female form. that could be really cool. because, no offense, but women are so much prettier than most things, they are round or flat or lumpy or smooth, they very in color, shape and size. so i think that something that has something to do with women would be really cool but i have nooooo idea what else to do. i guess i need to think on it a bit more.

i dont know why but this song has always appealed to me somehow. i have always loved the soft crooner style and this song exemplifies that. it is from the movie my fair lady, which is a pretty entertaining movie. My favorite version is the one Dean Martin sings, although i also like Perry Como's version, but then again i just like him.

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening

This is my favorite poem, again i am not sure why it appeals to me. but in 3rd grade we were told to memorize a poem, and i picked this one. since then i have never been able to get this poem out of my head. which is why i think it is my favorite. but as a side note i just like Robert Frost's poems in general. he is able to intertwine nature with human emotions very easily in a unique and complex way. this poem is not exception. i think that Robert Frost was a very talented poet.
